PICK UP THAT KNIFE

With lyrics from the song Pick Up That Knife by the band Wednesday, this zine was created with the focus of strong composition, typography, texture, and contrast. The main focal point of the zine is the 6th page, a full spread digital painting of a figure being starkly backlit. The eye is placed directly in the center of the page, creating tension with the viewer. Pages 3 and 5 utilize the silhouette of a wirehead self portrait sculpture—a previous Surface Research assignment.
